We are excited to welcome everyone to the JDRF Houston Promise Ball Saturday, April 15th at the Hilton Americas Houston. This year’s gala is presented by Hagans Montgomery Hagans and Williams. Our chairs, Suzette and Marshall Lang, are looking forward to sharing a Starry Night – A Celestial Evening of Hope with you.
Tomorrow’s gala will feature fabulous auction items, delicious food and drink, live entertainment by SkyRocket and the opportunity to directly support JDRF funded research. The night will also honor Andrea and Michael Soper and feature The Lara Family. Please read on for additional event information and share with your table guests.

Attire: Black Tie
Parking: Complimentary valet and self-parking for all Promise Ball guests is provided by JDRF. This will ensure a smooth arrival and expedite guest check-in. Whether driving or using Uber or Lyft, please use the East Valet Drive on Avenida de las Americas. Please be aware of possible road closures heading into downtown due to ongoing construction on 610 West Loop, I-10 and Hwy 59. Upon your arrival, head to the fourth floor Lanier Grand Ballroom for guest registration.

Smart Phone and BidPal capability: We are pleased to offer guests the opportunity to bid on our fabulous Silent Auction and Almost Live items with BidPal technology on their own smart phones and the opportunity to bid directly from your phone all night – so remember to bring your fully charged smartphone! But just in case you run low on battery, Reliant Charging Stations will be available and free to use all night! Guests who have provided their cell phone number in advance should have received a text message earlier this week to start bidding on the Silent Auction. If you have not yet provided your cell phone number, you can do so at registration to receive a link to access the auction. Other opportunities throughout the night will also be available through the use of your mobile device – so don’t miss out!
Silent Auction – Once again, most of the physical silent auction items will not be on display at the event. Winners will be able to pick-up auction items at the JDRF office on Thursday, April 20th and Friday, April 21st from 10am to 3pm. Winners will receive an email with pick-up instructions.

FUND A CURE
Fund A Cure is the unique opportunity for you to change the lives of individuals living with type 1 diabetes. After the Live Auction, when the ballroom is stilled with a story of hope and inspiration, you will be asked to Fund A Cure. This is your chance to make a donation that goes 100% directly to research, is 100% tax deductible, and will fund the science to make medical history.

Don’t forget to charge your cell phones fully prior to the event. But just in case you run low on battery, Reliant Charging Kiosks will be available and free to use all night! Just grab a portable charger and head back to your table. Be sure to return your charger before you leave for the night.
AUCTION ITEM PICK-UP
Auction item pickup will take place next week at the JDRF office located at 1776 Yorktown St, Suite 560, Houston, TX 77056. Pickup will be available Thursday, April 20th and Friday, April 21st from 10am to 3pm.
ENTERTAINMENT
After the evening program concludes, continue the celebration with a live performance from the band SkyRocket! There will also be a new Mirror Photobooth, casino games (with awesome prizes) and breakfast tacos! You won't want to miss this party!
